Sometimes you crave a little something more than a caña or a glass of wine. That's where a nice cocktail comes in. We've collected a list of our 10 favourite cocktails bars around the city. Let us know if we missed any!
Balius
Balius in Poblenou loves vermouth! So be prepared to try all types of crazy vermouth cocktails (or you can also drink it as-is if you prefer). They have a nice collection at the bar and the bartenders take their time to prepare special cocktails. Relaxed, cozy atmosphere.
Paradiso
Hidden away in plain sight behind an actually functioning pastrami bar, Paradiso is a must-do if you’re a lover of cocktails. Each drink is elaborately presented and made by master mixologists. The classy and beautiful interior is dimly lit creating a distinct atmosphere and experience unlike any other.
Bobby Gin
As the name suggests, Bobby Gin’s expertise is in gin. This spot in Gracia has an extensive collection (over 80 types) to choose from. If you’re not sure about which to pick, they let you sample a few. Any G&T you try is sure to delight!
Two Schmucks
This “five-star dive bar” on Joaquin Costa in Raval is a great little spot. Their cocktails are original, delicious and they’re always being changed and updated. The staff are welcoming and they have some pretty good food options too.
Solange
The jazzy, comfortable and stylish atmosphere of Solange is based on James Bond. The service here is elegant and smooth and they have a nice variety of signature cocktails and some other creative ones. Just remember to ask for your martini shaken and not stirred.
Dr Stravinsky
Step into Dr Stravinsky’s and you feel like you’ve entered a chemist’s secret laboratory. The combination of the decor, wonderfully mixed cocktails, and friendly staff make it an unforgettable experience. It also helps that the spot is tucked away in the tiny backstreets of el Born.
Boadas
Apparently the oldest cocktail bar in Barcelona (founded in 1933), Boadas takes their cocktails seriously. With talented mixologists who don’t work off a menu, just ask for your favourite or prepare to be delighted with something they whip up according to your tastes.
Bobby’s Free
If you really want a cool experience, this place has it. Bobby’s Free is a 1920’s prohibition-style bar with its entrance through a barbershop. You’ll need to provide a password to get in which the “barber” will give you some clues for. Special cocktails and a great ambience.
Pax 49
For exquisite and creative cocktails in a relaxed, trendy atmosphere Pax 49 is the place for you. Right in the heart of Born on Carrer del Rec, the staff are friendly and the music will have you bobbing in your seat. You won’t find typical tapas to nibble on while here – their menu features Dutch snacks.
Torre Rosa
This one isn’t exactly in the centre of the city but it’s worth a visit if you have some time to make the trip. Torre Rosa used to be a private house but has since been converted into a bar with a cute terrace garden to enjoy tasty cocktails.
