Barcelona is fortunate to maintain these emblematic hundred-year-old establishments, located in historic buildings, now run by generations of their founding families. Join us to learn about and take note of these amazing historic gems to visit when they reopen!

Pablo Picasso, one of the world’s most well known artists, spent his most formative years in Barcelona. Join us this Wednesday, 11/05 at 18h, in a virtual discussion with our teacher Gina, to learn about Picasso’s history and his roots in our favorite Spanish city, Barcelona.

Anyone who has fallen in love with Barcelona has felt its indescribable magic. It’s no wonder that authors and filmmakers have also been inspired by the city’s charm! This Friday, 08/05 at 18h, our teacher, Néstor, will give us a vision of the art, architecture, gastronomy and culture of Barcelona ​​through the film directed by Woody Allen, Vicky Cristina Barcelona.

Join us this Wednesday at 18.30h with Speakeasy´s very own Joan in a virtual trip to Cuba! He will guide us through one of the most peculiar countries of America via its lesser-known landscapes, music, its revolution, a writer and some typical drinks.

This Friday, May 1st, is Día Internacional del Trabajador (Labor day in some countries). Join our very own Laura (this Wednesday, 29/04 at 17.30h) as she takes us through the history of this international day in Barcelona from its origins to its significance and representation in current times.

In this virtual culture class we will learn about Miguel de Cervantes and Federico García Lorca. Our Speakeasy teacher, Laura, will enlighten us on these two Spanish writers widely regarded as the greatest writers in the Spanish language.

Join our Speakeasy teacher, Joan, as he paints a picture of Barcelona’s diverse neighborhoods and history though the lens of literature.

We are going to Sant Medir festival, also known as 'the sweetest festival' because of the 60 tons of sweets that are given away during the colourful Sant Medir procession with over 120 horses taking part.

One of the best viewpoints to watch the sun go down? The Bunkers del Carmel! We will go up to the top of the city on Saturday afternoon and spend our time there chatting, snacking and watching the golden light descend over Barcelona.

Let's enjoy some Spanish food for a very cheap price together! If you come with us to Croqueteca on Thursday you'll get everything for 1€: Croquetas, tapas and drinks. Sounds tempting, right?

Are you a new student? Or maybe you're just feeling social and want to get to know some of the faces you study with? We´re having a meet & greet in a bar nearby!

We´re going to the Sitges Carnival! Get yourself a costume together because this will be EPIC. We'll get our party juices flowing at Bar D9 in Barcelona. Then, we'll go to Sitges by bus and have some free time to party in the streets and watch the famous parade!

Ready to test your knowledge in something other than irregular Spanish verbs? We'll use our collective knowledge in a fun pub quiz to see which team comes out on top!

You cannot technically say you've lived in Barcelona until you've spent an evening at La Xampanyeria. What looks like a little hole-in-the-wall is one of Barcelona's best cava caves!

We´re going on a day trip to Montserrat! We will hike up to the highest peak, Sant Jeroni, and eat lunch between the mysterious mountain peaks and then return down. We´ll also enter the Monastery!

Vermut is a classic and typical drink from Barcelona. On Thursday we´ll be attending a class to learn about this traditional drink. We'll learn to make some vermut-based cocktails and then end up making one of our own choice (and drinking it of course)!

Taco Tuesday is here! We´re going to Taco Alto (just across the street from Speakeasy) to enjoy some tacos! The space is perfect for hanging out, so let's relish the Mexican flavours and have some tasty food and drinks together!
